Norway sweeps Eurovision Song Contest

After an exciting Eurovision song contest in the packed Moscow Olimpisky Indoor Arena, Norway’s Alexander Rybak was finally declared the winner, having received the highest number of points from juries and televoters from the 42 countries participating in this year’s edition of Eurovision. The 23-years-old Norwegian managed to gather 387 points, a new Eurovision record. Norway was followed by Yohanna from Iceland with 218 points and Azerbaijan’s AySel & Arash, who collected 207 points.

Norway now looks forward to hosting the Eurovision Song Contest next year for the first time since 1996.
