Santa (Tomteland)

A large park spread over 110, 000 hectares, located 20 minutes drive from Mora. Santa's house is located inside the park, where you can view his everyday life and have a taste of a Christmas season dinner.

Lund southern region

A university town located 15 minutes from Malmö by train. The town is said to have been established in 990. In 1666, with the founding of Lund University, this town became a centre of education in Europe in the Middle Ages.

Oriental Museum (Östasiatiska Museet)

This museum was originally built as a residence for the guards who worked for Karl XII during his reign. It was opened as an arts museum in 1963 and displays mainly collections of Chinese works, but the museum also contains many works from countries such as Japan, India and Korea.

Glass Factory-Kosta

Sweden's oldest Glass Factory. There is an exhibition room (open from April to September) and restaurants. In summertime, the "Hyttsillsafton" is held. The heat from the glass-melting furnace is used to cook sill (salted herring), potatoes, sausages and cakes for a great feast. Very popular among tourists.

The Nobel Museum in Karlskoga

The Alfred Nobel museum in Karlskoga is on the outskirts of Karlstad. The house where he spent the latter part of his life is also located here, and you can view his research work.

Natural History Museum / Aquarium Naturmuseet

Stuffed animals, plants and geological models from not only Sweden but also from around the world are on display.


Zornmuseet museuem / Zorngarden mansion

Famous for his healthy women portraits, Swedish painter Anderz Zorn's water colour paintings, etchings and oil paintings are on display here Beside the museum is Zorn's mansion which is open for public view.

Lilla torget Square

Meaning "little Square"in Swedish, it is located next to the south west corner of Stora torget Square. It used to be the central market area, and the Malmö market is currently still on the other side. Also, this area used to be the handicraft centre for shoes, leather and other products, which can be seen in the city scenery.


Darlana

The Darlana district, located in the centre of Sweden, has a beautiful natural environment with lakes and rich forests and is also protected by Sweden's old tradition. The traditional summer festival is especially celebrated widely here. The area has its own special products and is very active in the art and crafts, which produces such artefacts as the “Darlana horse”. The world famous painter Carl Larssonsgården is also from this district.

Glimmingehus Castle

South west 10km from Simrishamn. Built between 1499 and 1505, this is one of Scandinavia's best preserved castles. There is a museum and a cafeteria available.

The Ofot Line

Ofot Line opened as a transportation railroad for iron-ore from Norway to Narvik port during the mid 19th century when mining started in Gällivare and Kiruna. Presently, it is operated as a passenger railroad and is the main means of transportation between Kiruna and Narvik. It is popular for the dynamic scenery of the large lakes, Abisko National Park and the cliffs of Rombaksfjord


Ovedskloster Castle

About 10km north of Sjöbo. A gustavian style castle built in 1761. There is a cafeteria available.
