Svalbard Islands

Svalbard is located exactly halfway between mainland Norway and the North Pole. It belongs to the Tromsø district of Norway, and it is comprised of five main islands - Spitsbergen, Nordaustlandet, Barents øya, Prins Karls Forland, and Edgeøya - and 150 small islands.

Sixty percent of Svalbard is covered in glaciers, and it is a habitat for rare sea birds, reindeer, Arctic foxes, polar bears, seals, and toothed whales. From Svalbard you will be able to see the Arctic Circle's illuminated messages of the midnight sun and northern lights.

Welcome to Svalbard!
