Museum of the Northern Tribe

Nordiska Museet is located in a Renaissance style building, located beyond the Djurgården Bridge. It exhibits handicraft work collected from various parts of the country and introduces traditional Swedish culture. The collections shed light on tribal history and the permanent exhibition, situated in the basement is very interesting.

Gustavsbergs Proceline Museum

Gustavsbergs Porceline Museum has over 50 000 visitors each year. It is located in the harbor of Gustavsberg which is located outside Stockholm. From here you can learn about the history of Gustavsberg's famous china factory and how to make and paint porcelain. You can also purchase porcelain products.

Kungstradgården

Kungstradgarden, named for its role in the past as the royal kitchen's veggie garden. “King's garden" is today a public park located in the city centre which is always full with people in summer time. In the winter time, ice skating is a popular winter sport.

Oriental Museum (Östasiatiska Museet)

This museum was originally built as a residence for the guards who worked for Karl XII during his reign. It was opened as an arts museum in 1963 and displays mainly collections of Chinese works, but the museum also contains many works from countries such as Japan, India and Korea.

Långholmens Prison Museum

Långholmens, the green island in the middle of Stockholm, was once home to Sweden's largest prison from 1724 to 1989. The building has been restored and is now a hotel, hostel and a conference centre. A part of the facility is open to the public where you can enter the prison cells.
