Jondal Cathedral

Jondal Cathedral is located in Haradanger and is famous for hosting beautiful organ concerts in the summer time.


Gamle Bergen

Gamle Bergen is an open air museum with more than 40 wooden houses, representative of the Bergen architecture in the 18th and 19th centuries. The houses give a picture of life in a small town with its dwellings, different shops, baker, barber, dentist, photographer etc. The museum area is open all year.

History Museum (Historisk Museum)

This museum displays anthropological collections from Norway’s prehistoric times, medieval times, modern times and other periods.

Kunstindustrimuseet - The Museum of Applied Arts

The museum was founded in 1876 and shows Norwegian and international applied arts dating from the seventh century to today.

Bryggens Museum

The Bryggen Museum displays relics from the medieval period that were discovered in the Bryggen excavation project, which was undertaken between 1955 and 1972.

Mt. Floyen Cable Car (Floibanen Funicular)

The Floyen Cable Car climbs Mt. Fløyen, which has an altitude of 320m. From its peak, you have a fantastic panoramic view of Bergen City. This train is also a means of transportation for people living in the residential area on the slope of Mt. Fløyen. It is recommended to use the train to reach the peak, but then walk down.

Tromsø Museum

Tromso Museum is attached to Tromsø University that was established in 1872. It displays and showcases a wide array of strands, such as geography, plants, animals, archaeology, and studies of the Sami people.

Stavanger Cathedral

The Stavanger Cathedral was erected in the 12th century by King Sigurd Jorsalfar immediately following the Viking era with an ancient Normandy-style architectural construction left unchanged from the past.

Trondheim

Trondheim is Norway's 3rd major city with a population of approximately 150,000. It is one of the oldest cities in Scandinavia, and boasts a history and tradition of over 1000 years. This city was revived by the Viking King, Olav Tryggvason, in 997 B.C. and was then called Nidaros. Currently, it is the central point for maritime trade. It is also famous for being an academic city, hosting Europe's largest scientific technology research centre and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), which is highly respected around the world. Trondheim is located in the central region of Norway, 500km from Oslo. Trondheim is an urban centre - with everything the big city can offer, yet with the cosy appeal of small-town friendliness.

Access: Approximately one hour by plane from Oslo to Trodheim and around 20 flights are in operation daily. A direct flight from Copenhagen is also available. It takes approximately 7hours by train from Oslo to Trondheim.


Akershus Castle (Akershus Slott)

The castle was constructed around 1300 by King Håkon V Magnusson and later restored by Christian IV at the beginning of the 17th century and since then the castle has remained unchanged. The castle id presently used as a banquet hall for entertaining important national and international government personalities. The view from the garden overlooking Oslo is worth seeing.

Nordkapp

Nordkapp is a 307 m high cliff and is usually referred to as the northernmost point of Europe. Some 200,000 tourists visit this spot annually, during the two to three months of summer. From this point, it is 2110km to the north pole. In the past, this was a spot that the Sami people used for sacrifice. Nordkapp gradually became famous as a sightseeing area after king Oscar II of Sweden visited these lands in 1873. It is popular for tourists to come to Nordkapp after spending a night at Honningsvåg.

Access Approximately 45 minutes from Honningsvåg. There are no regular bus services during the winter so reservation is necessary.

Geiranger

Geirnager is a small village that is situated in the centre of the Geirangerfjord. This small village hosts thousands of hiking tourists during summer time.


The Adolf Gun

The Adolf Gun, which is said to be the world's largest weapon, was brought to Harstad by the German Army during the Second World War. Since it is on the premises of a Norwegian Army base, you will have to be accompanied by an authorized guide. Prior reservations are required during periods other that the summer season.

Theatres & Operas

Large theatre productions are mainly staged at the National Theatre, which is also the home of Norway's national theatre group. The Ibsen festival, held every two years, is a major event that gathers theatre groups from all around the worlds to compete against each other with Ibsen pieces. Operas and ballets are performed in the National Opera House.


Saami Museum (Samid Vuorka Davvirat)

The Sami Museum exhibits various aspects of the Sami culture. The museum concentrates on the history, culture, industry, and craftwork of the Sami people, and it also exhibits Sami people’s tent and mountain huts.
