Louisiana Museum for Modern Art

This beautiful modern museum is well worth a visit, if you are interested in art and architecture. It is surrounded by lakes and coasts, making the most of its natural environment. Works by Picasso, Munch and other well known modern artists are exhibited here. It is approximately a 30 min train ride north of Copenhagen

Saint Knuds Church (Odense Domkirke)

The Saint Knuds church is a 13th century gothic-style church and it was here H.C Andersen was baptized. Well worth a visit!

Statue of The Little Mermaid (Den lille Havfrue)

"The Little Mermaid"is a representative piece of Denmark's famous author, Andersen. Although mermaids are supposed to be completely fish from the waist below, the statue bears human legs up until the ankles. It is believed that this is because the model of the statue had such beautiful legs, the sculptor felt reluctant to cover her legs with scales.


Den Gamle By

The Old Town urban museum's 75 historical buildings, period interiors, animals and people give visitors ample opportunity to make themselves feel that they are back in a Danish market several centuries ago. The 'Den Gamle By' in Århus has received top marks as a travel destination in Denmark.

Herning Museum (Herning Kunstmuseum)

Established in 1977, Herning Kunstmuseum grew out of the active industrial life in and around Herning in the 1950s. Today, the museum''s collections consist primarily of a selection of the former Aage Damgaard collection, as well as the art collection belonging to the Municipality of Herning. A direct shuttle bus takes you to the museum from Birk Centerpark station.

North Zealand

North Zealand is well worth a visit, no only can you enjoy the beautiful coastline and idyllic landscapes, here you also find Kronborg Castle, which is known for providing the setting for Shakespeare's Hamlet and Fredriksborg’s Castel (Denmark’s national museum). North Zealand is easily accessible by train from Copenhagen.


Amalienborg

Ever since the fire of Christiansborg Castle in 1794, this palace has been used as the home of the royal family. Armed guardsmen stand in front of each building and the flag on top of the roof is raised whenever the Queen is in the palace. A traditional changing of the guard can be observed every day at noon.


Tivoli Garden (Tivoli)

An amusement park, adjacent to Copenhagen Central Station. In addition to the Ferris wheel and roller coaster, you can also enjoy the blooming flowers of each season, and the pantomime performances at the Peacock Theatre or fulfilling entertainments at the concert hall. Ten thousand illuminations are set up on the park grounds during the Christmas City, which is held from mid November to December 23rd, and invite its viewers to the world of Christmas.

Royal Library (Det Kongelige Bibliotek)

Possesses a total of 2 million books, magazines, and other items including Andersen's manuscripts written in his own hand. An excellent restaurant with a modern interior called Søren k is also inside the building

Skagen Museum

Skagens Museum is the Skagen artists’ museum. The Skagen artists all had in common that they were inspired by naturalism and open-air painting, sought new places and motifs, and during the course of the 1880s Skagen was transformed into an artists’ colony with room for both work and play. The Old City Hall (Det Gamle Radhus)

The old city hall in Ebeltoft occupies an area of only 77m sq. It was constructed in 1789 and used as a city hall until 1840. Today, it is used as a museum, displaying Thai's King Sham and retro fire fighting equipment.

Andersen Museum (H.C.Andersens Hus)

This museum explores Andersen's life from his birth 1805 to his death 1875. Here you find collected works, translated in every language and his cut-out art. The houses are still preserved around the periphery of this museum and are used as regular housing as well as restaurants and shops.
